After the Denver Nuggets finished practice on Friday, Nuggets star big man Nikola Jokic was asked by reporters about some of the players he grew up watching. Jokic said Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal was one of them, and he added that he thinks Shaq is the most dominant player in NBA history:

During his prime, Shaquille O'Neal dominated the game like we have never seen before. Teams would triple-team The Diesel in the paint and he would still score with ease. His size and strength made it impossible to stop him in the post.

Shaq had career averages of 23.7 points and 10.9 rebounds. He was a two-time scoring champion, four-time NBA champion, 15-time All-Star, and won the 2000 regular season MVP award. We will likely never see a player like O'Neal again.

Nikola Jokic is a more versatile player than Shaq. He can score from the post and perimeter and has the passing skills of a guard. Jokic is currently averaging 18.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 29.8 percent from beyond the arc and 84.3 percent from the free-throw line. The 23-year-old is in the MVP conversation, as he has led the Nuggets to the best record in the rugged Western Conference.
