Denver Nuggets veteran swingman Will Barton recently shared a very interesting narrative of the time Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant messed with his head as a rookie. Barton animatedly told the story of how Bryant absolutely rattled him in their first encounter some eight years ago.

That's pretty funny and inspiring at the same time. The best part is towards the end when Barton shared how Kobe gave him some sound advice after the game. As it turns out, this was a very valuable learning experience for Barton, and one that he holds near to his heart to this very day.

Barton has come a long way since that day. Right now, he has become a very important member of the Nuggets, holding the role of the team's starting small forward. This season, the 6-foot-5 guard/forward is averaging 14.6 points (on 45.0 percent shooting), 7.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also connecting on 1.6 3-pointers per ballgame on a 36.2-percent clip.

On Thursday, Barton was outstanding for his side, logging a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double, to help the Nuggets to a 124-116 victory against the Indiana Pacers. At the moment, Denver has one of the best records in the entire league at 24-10. They are currently sitting at the second spot in a ruthless Western Conference, second only to Bryant's own Los Angeles Lakers.

Denver will be back in action on Saturday as they face off against the struggling Washington Wizards.
