The sports world was struck with the news of Simone Biles withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics due to a medical issue. The USA gymnastics sensation stepped away mid-competition after struggling to land a vault and caught everybody off guard.
Reactions and support poured in as Biles said that she was fine physically, but cited emotionally she wasn't there. Then Simone Biles posted one simple emoji on Twitter after pulling out of the Tokyo Olympics.

The first thought is the health and well-being of Biles, one of the top gymnasts in the world, and the support from her teammates and competitors was overwhelming after her decision. Biles opened up on her decision to withdraw, as Team USA went on to medal after Biles withdrew from the event.
“After the performance that I did, I didn’t want to go into any of the other events second guessing myself, so I thought it was better if I took a step back and let these girls go out there and do the job and they did just that.”
Biles remained on the sidelines and cheered on her team all the way through. While it remains unclear if Biles will return for the remainder of the Tokyo Olympics or not, let's hope that she can be in good spirits and return.
