There have been multiple reports made in the hours leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft that the Miami Dolphins were attempting to trade for the No. 1 pick. To the Miami fans still holding out hope, the Cincinnati Bengals are officially not trading the No. 1 pick, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Seeing that the Bengals are holding onto the No. 1 pick, it's assumed that Joe Burrow will be their selection. If Cincinnati was ever going to consider moving off of the No. 1 pick, they would've needed to receive a historic offer in return.

Of course, the Dolphins have an immense amount of draft capital in the next couple of seasons. Just this year alone, Miami has three first-round picks at their disposal, including the No. 5 pick.

For months, the Bengals have been doing their homework on the most notable quarterbacks available in the 2020 NFL Draft. While they were fond of the other guys as well, Burrow appears to be the guy they want. Burrow, an Ohio native, is coming off a season where he tossed 60 touchdowns en route to LSU securing a National Championship.

Following his historic season, the Bengals are hoping that Burrow can be the guy that helps them emerge from the depths of despair. Since 2015, Cincinnati has failed to make the postseason in four consecutive seasons, compiling a 21-42-1 record in that span.

Even though they were willing to entertain offers from other teams, the Bengals are officially going to stay put and make a selection with the No. 1 pick. Barring an unforeseen, M. Night Shyamalan-esque twist, Cincinnati will make Burrow the No. 1 selection on Thursday night.
