The Boston Celtics have reportedly become the ‘stealth suitors' to free agent All-Star guard Kemba Walker as they prepare for the seemingly imminent departure of Kyrie Irving and Al Horford this summer.

After failing to acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, the Celtics have not given up on their plan to build a championship contending team, and the alternative route that they will take is to replace Kyrie with Kemba. However, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith does not believe that Boston will be a great fit for Walker.

Although Smith highlighted the fact that Irving is a better all-around player than Walker, he also noted that the problem with the Celtics might not be because of Kyrie after all, but rather caused by the shortcomings of the front office, particularly of general manager Danny Ainge.

Last season, the Celtics were in disarray for the majority of the season, which led to their second round exit in the playoffs. There were reports that Irving was fed up with his younger teammates, which is one of the reasons why he wants out of Boston.

However, Smith was the one who called out Ainge for his inability to execute the Celtics' plan of building a championship team around Kyrie and AD, and that's why he doesn't believe that Walker will be the one to solve Boston's problems.

Still, the Celtics are moving on from the ‘what could've been' and are positioning themselves to become a competitive team next season. They have talented young players, and adding Walker to that mix will definitely make them better than having no All-Stars at all.
