Brooklyn Nets big man DeAndre Jordan has just invented one of the most unique gestures we've seen in a very long time. The 31-year-old big man has decided to celebrate every single assist he makes by pretending to pick up a dime off the street.
My favorite thing right now is DeAndre Jordan, after he gets an assist, pretending to pick up the dime that he just dropped & then tucking the dime into his waistband.
Asked him last week if he borrowed that from someone else.
"Nope. Off the top of the dome, man."

It's difficult to imagine this without actually seeing it, so here are some of Jordan's moments courtesy of NBA.com's John Schumann.

You don't get the full effect here, but you can see him picking up the dime.., pic.twitter.com/1unuTvgPHm

That's certainly not something you see everyday, so we will definitely need to give props to Jordan for his creativity here. Let's just hope he doesn't strain his back or something in this rather effortful gesture.
Fortunately for Jordan, assists do not exactly come a dime a dozen for him, so at least he won't be needing to perform this celebration too often on every given night. Nonetheless, the 6-foot-11 center is currently averaging 2.0 assists in 21.4 minutes per ballgame, which is definitely not bad for a big. Jordan has also logged 7.6 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 16 appearances for the Nets thus far.
DeAndre Jordan and the Nets were in action on Friday, as they defeated the Boston Celtics, 112-107. DeAndre had the most playing time off of Boorklyn's bench with 23 minutes of action, accounting for eight points, 11 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block.
The Nets have had a so-so start to the new season, but are currently on a bit of a run, winning six out of their last eight contests. Brooklyn will be back in action on Sunday as they take on a surging Miami Heat side.
