In a close game on Saturday afternoon, DeAndre Hopkins grabbed a go-ahead touchdown late in the contest between the New York Jets and the Houston Texans.

Hopkins had a huge game versus the Jets. He had 10 receptions for 170 yards and scored two touchdowns in the win against New York.

Earlier in the contest Hopkins caught his 500th NFL reception, making him one of the youngest players ever to reach that mark. He had more receiving yards than anyone on either team.

Hopkins is s the second-fastest player ever to reach 500 receptions at 26 years and 192 days old. NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald was the youngest at 26 years old and 89 days, and before that Randy Moss was 26 years old and 299 days.

Hopkins has proven that he is one of the elite NFL wide receivers since being drafted in the first round by the Texans in 2013. Since then, he has had 4 seasons with at least 1,000-plus receiving yards, 75 receptions, and six touchdown catches. He led the NFL in touchdowns for wide receivers with 13 in the 2017-18 season.

The Texans this season are 10-4. Coach Bill O’Brien has led the team to first overall in the AFC West Division. After losing their first three games, the Texans went on an unprecedented 9-game winning streak. They average 24.8 points scored per game, ranking 11th in the NFL. They only allow 19.8 points per game, making them the 5th most potent defense in the NFL.

The Texans face off next in Philadelphia in Week 16 against the Eagles to continue to fight for their playoff and divisional position.
