The Green Bay Packers were able to clinch a playoff berth with a 17-9 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday despite dealing with the absence of wide receiver Christian Watson due to a hamstring injury, and head coach Matt LaFleur said he is not ruled out for next week's wild card game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“He just wasn't ready to play,” Matt LaFleur said, via Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated. “We'll see where he's at this week. I definitely wouldn't rule him out.”

LaFleur said it comes down to feel, and that fully recovering from the hamstring issue is something that Christian Watson will have to deal with in the offseason, according to Huber.

It has been a frustrating season for Watson, who played in nine games with the Packers and struggled with injuries for multiple stretches this year. He was billed as the top target for Jordan Love this season.

Despite Watson missing time, Jordan Love was able to show significant growth this season with the Packers, giving the team confidence that they have a franchise quarterback.

Next week's game against the Cowboys will be a big test for the young quarterback, so having Watson on the field would be a big help.

It will be worth monitoring LaFleur's comments throughout the week, as well as the injury report leading up to next week's game. The Cowboys are undefeated at home this season, so the Packers will be looking to pull off a significant upset on the road.
