The Green Bay Packers ended up winning their Week 1 matchup on the road against the Chicago Bears by a final score of 10-3. It was an ugly game, but those who love defensive matchups would love it. Surprisingly, the Packers’ defense was able to one-up the Bears’ defense, so to speak.

Following the big-time win for the Packers, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a very brief and to the point statement about Green Bay’s new defense.

After the team sealed the victory, there was a clip on the live broadcast that showed Rodgers celebrating with defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. Take a look at that clip for yourself.

Needless to say, Rodgers is pumped up with the way the defense played against the Bears. There is a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the football, but the future is looking bright defensively. It has been a long time since defense was a strength for Green Bay.

It is going to be interesting to see how the NFC North plays out this season. Both the Packers and Bears are going to be competing for playoff spots and the Minnesota Vikings could enter the conversation as well. If the Packers’ defense continues to play at the level they did in Week 1, they are going to be tough to beat.

LaFleur and company may not be too terribly pleased with how ugly the game was, but a win is a win and the Packers will happily take it.
