Aaron Rodgers has been the talk of the NFL this summer abut when he would get his big extension done. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has two years left on a deal that pays an average of $22 million per year. There was a lot of talks that maybe a deal could get done before training camp but that deadline has passed.

Rodgers, however, isn't putting a deadline on the extension and he wants to leave that up to his agent so he can worry about the play on the field.

“I think they've talked about it enough that there's an expectation something would have been done,” Rodgers said via ESPN.com. “Obviously judging by the questions here there's kind of an expectation before we started. But I'm just trusting [agent] Dave [Dunn]. That's why he's representing me, he has my best interest in mind. They're taking care of those conversations, and I'm focused on this team and being a leader.”

Others around the NFL like Julio Jones, Aaron Donald, and Earl Thomas have threated to not report to camp or haven't reported to camp in hopes of a new deal. Rodgers said that isn't his style and he knows that at some point the contract extension is going to get done.

“I don't really operate like that; I have two years left on my deal,” Rodgers said. “They're obviously more than willing to talk about an extension. There wasn't any animosity on either side.”

There is still a chance that a contract could be agreed upon in the next few weeks although that isn't what is on Rodgers mind.
