Green Bay Packers star left tackle David Bakhtiari tore his ACL on December 31st, 2020. Now, a year and a half later, the injury is still impacting Bakhtiari.

David Bakhtiari was placed on the physically unable to perform list today. With training camp quickly approaching, this isn't the news that anyone in the Packers organization wanted to hear. There was hope that he would be ready to go by the start of training camp.

Bakhtiari landing on the PUP list isn't necessarily an indication that he is far away from returning. At any point, the Packers could choose to re-activate him.

David Bakhtiari, a two-time All-Pro, was once regarded as one of the top left tackles in the game. Upon his eventual return, there is a belief that he could still play at that level.

Throughout the 2021 season, many were anticipating his return. He returned to practice but eventually chose to have another surgery. This was intended to help with the swelling that he was experiencing.

He made his lone appearance of the season during the Packer's week 18 game against the Detroit Lions. During this game, he played 27 snaps. After the game, the Packers chose to shut him down for their postseason run.

Since being taken in the fourth round of the 2013 draft, David Bakhtiari has held down the Packer's left tackle duties. Throughout his entire career, he has played in 7,787 offensive snaps. In that time, he has allowed just 202 total pressures and 29 total sacks.

His dominance in pass blocking has helped elevate Aaron Rodgers to the level that he plays at. Bakhtiari has served as the building block of this offensive line. His return will be felt among the entire offense, whenever that may be.
