The Green Bay Packers are in the market for a tight end. So to no one's surprise, they will be targeting the best one available this offseason. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, the Packers are getting set to make a run at Austin Hooper.

This comes after Green Bay released fellow tight end Jimmy Graham earlier in the week.

The general consensus is that Hooper will reset the tight end market. And with Hunter Henry being franchise tagged by the Los Angeles Chargers, Hooper is clearly the No. 1 tight end to chase.

Hooper has spent the first four years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons. He is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he played 13 games and hauled in 75 receptions for 787 yards and six touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The 25-year-old, was originally selected by the Falcons in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He had a quiet rookie year, logging just 19 catches for 271 yards and three scores. But the following season, his role within the offense grew. Hooper finished with 49 grabs for 526 yards while reaching the end zone three times.

Hooper then had a breakout year of sorts in 2018, catching 71 passes for 660 yards and four touchdowns, earning his first trip to the Pro Bowl.

The Packers won 13 games and captured the NFC North division title this past season, making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.
