The NFL announced that they are reviewing the Green Bay Packers enforcement of COVID protocols, following Aaron Rodgers' failed test.

The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero posted the NFL's statement on twitter.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were set to square off in a pivotal matchup Sunday at Kansas City. Rodgers will not be allowed to play this weekend unless he has two consecutive negative tests. The tests must be at least 24 hours apart.

The failed test from Rodgers was like a bomb being dropped. Rodgers, during a press conference earlier in the year, led the sports media to believe he had been vaccinated stating he was immunized but that he did not criticize other players for not being vaccinated.

It is now being reported that Rodgers himself is not vaccinated. However, players and team staff were aware of that.

This comes one week after Pro-Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams tested positive for COVID-19, keeping both he and teammate Allen Lazard out from last week's game vs the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers were able to overcome being short handed and defeat the Cardinals, 24-21.

However, during that game, Green Bay lost their starting tight end Robert Tonyan to a knee injury. Following the game, the Packers placed Tonyan on injured reserve with a torn ACL. Lazard has since been cleared to play this weekend, but Adams has not as of yet.

It now appears as though Green Bay will be without their quarterback, tight end and possibly star wide receiver. That is far from ideal as they play a Kansas City team desperate for a big win to help turn their season around.
