The New York Jets had been rather active near the Oct. 29 trade deadline following an abysmal start to the 2019 NFL season. It appears the Green Bay Packers were among the teams looking to strike a deal. There were rumors about wide receiver Robby Anderson being made available for trade.

According to Evan Massey of ClutchPoints, the Packers reportedly reached out to the Jets about Anderson:

ESPN's Rob Demovsky, doubled down on the report.

The prospect of Anderson going for anything less than a second-rounder would have been far-fetched considering how wide receivers of his caliber have been valued in recent trades.

Although the Jets were open to dealing some of the most notable names on their roster, they were still far from going on a fire sale in order to usher in some future draft picks for their rebuild.

It is no secret that the Packers have made efforts to shore up more weapons for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Their receiving corps has already been rather thin with Davante Adams dealing with a toe injury since Week 4. That was their last chance at adding some more firepower to the offense for their potential playoff run.

While Anderson is in the midst underwhelming 2019 campaign with the Jets, his struggles can be attributed to the lackluster state of their offense. It is safe to say that his skill set would have been better utilized by Rodgers.

It would also have helped to solidify a bonafide No. 2 option to Adams in the passing game once he made his return.
