Marcedes Lewis has been with the Green Bay Packers for less than two seasons. However, he has the chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers that would say otherwise; the two 35-year-olds are on the same page, they have been since Lewis joined.

Said Lewis on FOX's Colin Cowherd's “The Herd,” on Wednesday:

“It's something that wasn't forced, it just kind of happened. We respect each other very much. It was a situation — being in Jacksonville the entire time, my whole career, I was always, even as a young one, the leader. Coming over to Green Bay, and getting the chance to be around a guy kind of like myself as far as not a rah-rah leader, just leads by example, just a good pro.”

With the Packers, Lewis has reeled in 13 receptions for 169 yards in 26 games — not glamorous numbers. However, he did not relocate to Green Bay to pad stats. He did it to win, and having that chemistry with Rodgers only helps.

“For all the things that he's accomplished, MVP, Super Bowl, all of that, I wanted to be a part of that,” said Lewis. “We kind of share the same ideas as far as how we should lead. Being the older guys in the locker room, he kind of bounces ideas off of me, so it works very well.”

Lewis may not have a massive role in the Packers' offense. But, his addition has been a fine one, as he supplements the team with blocking and consistency as a third-down target. Considering the Packers are 8-2, he should feel happy about the move from Jacksonville to Wisconsin.
