Packers' head coach Matt LaFleur is taking the blame for Jordan Love's rough start against the Chiefs. In Green Bay's 13-7 loss, the rookie quarterback could not get things going as the Kansas City defense kept bringing pressure. It wasn't until the fourth quarter where Love managed to throw his only touchdown pass to wide receiver Allen Lazard, but it was also where he threw a costly interception. The Utah State product completed just 19 of 34 passes, and only helped provide 301 yards of offense in total.

LaFleur had some words to say about the team's performance, as well as his rookie quarterback's struggles:

“This one falls on me, squarely.”

It was somewhat expected that the rookie would not have an outstanding performance in his first start of the season. In actuality, however, there were situations within the game that could have been handled better by the Packers' coaches, specifically the shot caller in Matt LaFleur. A plethora of third down scenarios with no pressure could have been executed differently, possibly leading to a first down or touchdown. Additionally, there was a lack of adjustment with the blitzes and pressure the Chiefs' defense continuously brought.

Though Love didn't have the best game, his tenacity and overall effort had an impact on teammates and coaches. Taking over for star Aaron Rodgers and being immersed in a bizarre COVID-19 situation were not the ideal circumstances. Yet the youngster finished the game strong against a well-established Chiefs team.
