The news revolving around quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his frustrations with the Green Bay Packers filled the headlines before the 2021 NFL Draft even officially began. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst then found himself in a rocky situation as he needed to resolve things quickly before Rodgers completely gave up on the team heading to the next season.

Amid the chaos, there is no doubt that Rodgers is still being seen as a valuable commodity by the rest of the league. However, Gutekunst revealed that he only received a lone inquiry from the San Francisco 49ers who were reportedly interested in the services of the veteran quarterback, with the acknowledgment of general manager John Lynch.

Via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk:

ā€œI had no [trade] discussions with any team. I received one call from a team Thursday night, after all the news came out. I said no. That was the end of the conversation,ā€ he said.

Rodgers had all the reasons to return to the team after he concluded a stellar 2020 season which saw him bag his third league MVP award. However, the Packers failed to live up to the high expectations as they suffered a disappointing 31-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game held on their home turf.

After coming up short on their title hopes, many thought that the team could've gone further in the postseason if Rodgers was given more weapons on the field by the front office. Despite the gunslinger's frustrations, the Packers went on to draft a defensive player in Georgia cornerback Eric Stokes with the 29th pick in the draft even though quality offensive prospects were still available on the board at the time.

The Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and the 49ers reportedly emerged as Rodgers' potential landing spots for next season. However, no deal ever came to fruition and it remains to be seen if those teams will make a move to acquire the star playmaker in the near future if he becomes available.

Nonetheless, general manager Brian Gutekunst and the rest of the Packers organization are still looking to repair their relationship with Aaron Rodgers as they look to keep him at the helm next season.
