Oh, the New England Patriots. The team is a big, hot pile of mess right now, if we're being honest. Between the losing streak, the Bill Belichick rumors, and the whole quarterback situation, New Engalnd is a far cry from the dynasty that tormented the NFL for nearly two decades.

This Staurday, the Patriots added yet another chapter to their ugly saga this season. The Pats found themselves down by 4 against the Indianapolis Colts in Germany yesterday after the two-minute warning. With the game on the line, they decided to… send out Bailey Zappe for the final drive.

The result was what everyone expected. Zappe missed a lot of shots, and he ended up throwing the game-winning INT on a fake spike attempt. It's a complete mess, and it raises questions as to who will be starting under center for the Patriots next week. Well, as usual, Belichick answered that question with a non-answer, per Ian Rapoport.

“#Patriots coach Bill Belichick, on a potential QB change after pulling Mac Jones late in Sunday’s game: “Yeah, we just got back from Germany. … We'll look at everything across the board.””

Yep. Classic Belichick answer. Mac Jones has been absolutely terrible for the Patriots this season. While he's not the sole reason for their struggles, he's not exactly absolved of blame either. Jones' terrible on-field decision making and his shoddy mechanics are a big red flag for the team. However, it's hard to be sold on Zappe as well this season, as he's been equally terrible, if not worse.

All signs currently point to the Patriots likely selected a quarterback in the 2024 NFL draft. However, right now, a decision has to be made. Do they continue to put their faith in Jones? Or do they appease the fans and play Zappe?
