New England Patriots offensive lineman Trent Brown revealed that he almost died prior to a game last season after problems surfaced from an IV being administered.

Brown was not a member of the Patriots but the Las Vegas Raiders at the time. The Raiders were set to play in Cleveland. Brown went through his normal pregame routine, which includes fluids being given to him through an IV. That's when it all went wrong.

An air bubble somehow got into Brown's bloodstream, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. As Masslive writer Chris Mason pointed out, it was a very serious situation.

“To pass out and almost go into cardiac arrest was crazy,” Brown said. “I almost died, so it was scary. I was in Cleveland by myself in the hospital for a few days… thought about my kids… even thought about retirement. It was that scary,” Brown said. “I was about to be done with it.”

Thankfully, Brown was eventually released from the hospital and recovered. But it was not a quick recovery. Even though he came back and played for the Raiders last season, Brown did not feel like himself until a few months ago.

During the off season, Trent Brown was traded to the New England Patriots. The effect of that trade has been felt by both organizations. The Patriots have become one of the most powerful offensive lines in football, having rushed for over 140 yards in each of their last four games.

Meanwhile, the Raiders, who were one of the best rushing teams last season, is 28th in the NFL averaging a measley 85 yards per game on the ground. The Pro Bowl offensive tackle is once again making a difference, this time for the New England Patriots.

A lot of teams in the AFC should be worried.
