The New England Patriots' new wide receiver Brandon Cooks seems to be adjusting nicely to the team's offense and locker room. So much so that,  according to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Tom Brady himself spoke highly of Cooks and his progression since arriving in New England.

“I’ve been so impressed with his professionalism. For a 23-year-old, he has a maturity about him that, for our team and our offense, is so critical to your development.”

The high praise Cooks received from Brady bodes well for him as he will likely be an instrumental part of the offense, especially with Julian Edelman out for the year after suffering a torn ACL. What kind of production will we be looking for in Cooks?

Conservatively, I think he will have at least have 81 receptions  for around 1,155.5 yards and 8.5 touchdowns. This is an average of his last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints with star quarterback Drew Brees.

I am a little more bullish on Cooks, though. I think he can have a career year, putting up closer to 100 receptions, 1,500 yards, and 12+ touchdowns this season.

Reasoning:

Tight end Rob Gronkowski seems to be healthy and will probably draw a lot of double teams. Additionally, defenses will also have to watch out for the multitude of Patriots running backs with very diverse skill sets, which all points to Cooks having a career year.
