Throughout February, New Orleans Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis was an absolute monster and put the team on his back. The Pelicans have made it to the month of March with a seven-game winning streak and are now nine games over .500 with a 35-26 record. However, Davis isn't going to let his historical month of February and all this recent success get to his head.

During a postgame interview with News Talk 99.5 WRNO, Davis opened up about how well he's been playing.

“My teammates keep reminding me, but I just worry about the wins,” Davis said after last night's victory. “Of course it's an honor to be mentioned with some of these great (former players). But for me, it's all about winning.”

Davis finished the month of February with some eye-opening numbers. In 11 games, the 24-year-old power forward averaged a whopping 35.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.2 blocked shots per game.

After New Orleans’ 121-116 road win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, Davis became joined legends Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Moses Malone as the only players in NBA history to average 35 points and 15 rebounds per contest during a seven-game winning streak, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Following the heartbreaking season-ending injury to star center DeMarcus Cousins in late January due to a ruptured Achilles, New Orleans proceeded to lose five of their next six games. After that stretch, the Pelicans have gone on to win their last seven contests and are just 1.5 games back of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
