LaVar Ball claims Lonzo Ball, LaMelo Ball will not sign with Nike

LaVar Ball, Pelicans, Lonzo Ball

TMZ recently caught up with LaVar Ball for an impromptu interview. Amid their discussion, LaVar noted that his sons, Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball and 18-year-old LaMelo Ball, will not be signing an endorsement deal with Nike. Why? because they’re “BBB for life,” according to LaVar.

Both Lonzo and LaMelo are being sought after for potential shoe contracts. Nike is already keeping an eye on LaMelo, who is expected to be a top-five pick in next year’s draft. Lonzo has said that he would be open to signing with another company outside of BBB, but his father doesn’t seem to like that idea much.

Via TMZ:

Long story short … LaVar was adamant NO BALL will sign with Nike.

“Everybody is scouting LaMelo,” LaVar said … “It’s okay though.”

Ball said the mere thought of one of his boys leaving BBB is outrageous — “I said it’s a family brand, didn’t I?”

When we mentioned that Lonzo recently told an L.A. radio station that he was open to exploring other shoe deal options … LaVar shut that down real quick.

“Lonzo can think all day. He ain’t signing with nobody. Big Baller Brand. That’s what I said.”

BBB has come under some scrutiny in recent months. Lonzo actually sued co-founder Alan Foster and covered up the company’s logo that was tattooed on his arm. Still, it sounds like LaVar is still pushing the family’s brand.
