A recent glimpse into the New Orleans Pelicans' ramp-up workouts showed a masked Zion Williamson, who would soon receive the Batman treatment in the comments:

Looking fit and ready to hit the weight room, images of Bane from the Batman series soon started to make the rounds on Twitter, getting a few comical reactions:

The resemblance is uncanny … or so they say:

Bane, who was played by Tom Hardy in the 2012 film “The Dark Knight Rises,” has a similar muscle mass and a mask contraption clasped in his face. All the Pelicans phenom is missing is that metallic feel to be his modern-day alter ego:

It’s so weird hearing about some guys not wanting to wear a mask because it makes them look “weak” … and then you see this pic.twitter.com/efLBt4WR5g

Williamson is looking every bit ready to take on the resumption of the season on July 30. According to Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin, no Pelicans have tested positive for the coronavirus.
It seems the rookie star is keeping safe by using the mask during workouts, hoping to bring his wrath to Orlando where he and his Pelicans teammates will hope to get sole possession of the ninth spot out West, setting up a play-in tournament against the Memphis Grizzlies, or perhaps even getting into that No. 8 spot for the play-in.
Williamson averaged 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists through his first 19 NBA games after coming off a meniscus tear. A fully healthy Zion might just have a little extra fuel in his tank for the Pelicans' upcoming restart.
He's looking every bit the supervillain he intends to be during the next eight games of the season.
