Detroit Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham is slowly growing into his own superstar as the first overall pick continues to make huge strides. The first overall pick had another huge game on Monday night against the Sacramento Kings and, despite the 129-107 loss, the 20-year old has now reached heights that only a handful of superstar point guards have reached prior.

Cade Cunningham exploded for 25 points, eight boards, eight dimes, and knocked down five triples for the Pistons in their home game against the Kings. This insane stat line now puts the rookie alongside the likes of Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, and Dallas Mavericks legend and coach Jason Kidd as the only rookies in the history of the league to achieve such a feat (via StatMuse):

After missing the first two weeks for the franchise due to an ankle injury, the rookie had a slow start to his professional career with a historically awful shooting clip in his first few games. But, a few weeks in, it seems as though Cunningham is getting his groove and slowly thriving in his role as the team's court general.

Cunningham played a game-high of 35 minutes on Monday night against the Kings and put up a team-high of 20 shots, knocking down 10 of them. Clearly, the Pistons know that they have a superstar in the making in the young guard and they'll continue to up his usage as his rookie season progresses.
