Reggie Bullock will call Detroit his NBA home for at least one more year. That has been ascertained following a report by Rod Beard of The Detroit News, explaining that the Pistons’ front office has picked up its team option for the last year of Bullock’ contract which is worth $2.5 million.

It’s a move one could consider as cost-effective, given the performance Bullock showed on the court in the 2017-18 campaign. That season, the former North Carolina Tar Heel averaged career highs in points and rebounds with 11.,3 and 2.5 per game, respectively. Bullock also connected on 48.9 percent of his shots from the floor and drilled an impressive 2.0 3-pointers on 4.5 attempts for a 44.5 percent accuracy from deep.

For only $2.5 million, the Pistons are not really breaking the bank just to get back a quality guard like Bullock who proved he can be a sound source of peripheral offense behind Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin last season.

Hopefully, for Bullock, his body could hold up for an entire season in order for him to increase his value when the next free agency period opens up in the summer of 2019. Bullock has not played more than 62 games in a season. In fact, he’s only appeared in more than 43 games just twice in a season since entering the league in 2013 as a first-round pick by the L.A. Clippers.

The 27-year-old Bullock is expected to be atop the shooting guard pecking order next season in Detroit, ahead of Luke Kennard and Langston Galloway.
