Detroit Pistons stars Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose won't play on Friday against the Indiana Pacers, but it appears they won't be out for too much longer.

Pistons head coach Dwane Casey says both Griffin and Rose are “really close” to returning from their injuries:

Griffin hasn’t played this season due to lingering issues with his knee and a sore hamstring, while Rose is dealing with a hamstring strain.

Griffin appeared in 75 games last season for the Pistons. He averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 75.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016 due to Griffin’s stellar play. However, Detroit got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to his knee injury and underwent surgery after the postseason ended.

Rose is putting up 20.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists on the season. The former MVP is shooting 56.2 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons are 4-5 on the season entering Friday's matchup with the Pacers. Detroit fans are anxious to see Griffin and Rose play together, but it's still unclear when that date will arrive.
