Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey revealed recently that power forward Christian Wood was upset about his positive COVID-19 test getting leaked.

Turns out, Casey was just as mad as Wood.

In fact, the Pistons coach called out his staffers for leaking the information to the media.

“That's why we were so mystified when it leaked out,” Dwane Casey told ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. “Christian was upset his name got out there. He didn't release it. And the worst part was it got out before Christian even had a chance to tell his mom.

“I was very unhappy about that. I told our staff, ‘This is unprofessional. This can't happen again.' It was so unfair to our player.”

Christian Wood's agent revealed this past week the Pistons big man has fully recovered from the coronavirus.

Before the 2019-20 season got suspended, Wood was averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists for the Pistons. The 24-year-old was shooting an efficient 56.7 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 74.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons were headed for the lottery this season before play got suspended. Wood is the new starter in Detroit after the franchise traded Andre Drummond to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the February trade deadline.

Wood becomes an unrestricted free agent whenever the 2020 free agency period begins.

Casey and the Pistons are happy that Wood is healthy again. However, the former Coach of the Year probably wishes he knew where the leak in his organization came from.
