Former Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley was traded to the Detroit Pistons at the deadline in a four-team deal involving the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers. Bagley was beginning to be unhappy in Sacramento, as his agent called out the franchise for his client's lack of involvement in the Kings' rotation. Given the rumored friction on both sides, it's probably for the best that the Kings decided to move on from Bagley. The young Pistons forward offered some post-trade thoughts, delivering a brutally honest take in the process, via The Athletic.

“I felt like a weight was taken off my back,” Bagley said. “I felt like I could have fun playing basketball. Being in a new environment, new facility, new teammates, new faces, I think that’s what I needed. To finally get that, I’m going to make the most of the opportunity.”

Marvin Bagley shockingly said that he felt like a “weight was taken off his back” after his trade from the Kings to the Pistons. In a statement that says nothing good about the Kings' culture, Bagley spoke of how he can “have fun playing basketball again.”

Either Bagley is just problematic for a team's chemistry, or the Kings simply aren't good at developing young talent.

It certainly speaks to the Pistons making the young forward feel welcome in Detroit, though it also sheds some light on the goings-on in Sacramento.

The fact that Bagley was relieved and felt like he could have fun again upon arriving with the Pistons speaks volumes about the culture in Sacramento.
