Boss battles just got a lot more thrilling and intimidating in Pokemon Legends Arceus, with the introduction of a frenzied class of Noble Pokemon, each with their own lair across Hisui. Now trainers are tasked to “cure” or tame the rampaging beasts—huge ancient creatures that also happen to be glowing a bright gold—all while dodging to avoid their powerful attacks. In this guide, we lay out the details on where to find each Noble Pokemon across the five zones and how to beat them so you can progress through the story and access new areas in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Noble Pokemon and their locations in Legends Arceus

The Wardens that trainers meet as they progress through Legends Arceus are the designated caretakers of Noble Pokemon. These massive creatures are rulers over their respective areas in Hisui, with each of the five frenzied Noble Pokemon scattered across the five main zones of the region. However, a mysterious force has disturbed the peace of the land, transforming the Noble Pokemon into enraged monsters. These Noble Pokemon are inevitable parts of the main storyline or campaign in Legends Arceus, players will have to quell these creatures before they can advance to the next zone in the game.

When Commander Kamado at the Galaxy Team headquarters assigns the mission, players will head to the new zones and speak to the Warden responsible for each Noble Pokemon. In each zone, the Warden will assign you other tasks or quests to complete before you can unlock the boss battle and trigger the Noble Pokemon to spawn in the arena.

For example, you'll usually have to unlock a rideable Pokemon mount, like needing Basculegion before you can head over to Firespit Island, or the Sneasler mount so you can properly explore Coronet Highlands and even Alabaster Icelands. Trainers will also need to be at the Fifth Star rank before they can continue Mission 12. Then, they will have to defeat the Braviary at Snowpoint Temple to be able to Fly back down to Avalugg's Legacy before heading westward to Icepeak Arena to face the frenzied Noble Avalugg.

How to beat Noble Pokemon

The arenas of the Noble Pokemon are marked-off areas on the map. You'll know you're in the right place when you see what looks like a pair of traditional banners as the entrance to the frenzied ‘mons lairs. Once you've finished all the other quests that the Warden sends you on, the main mission will direct you to the territory of the Noble Pokemon.

When you enter the arena, a cut-scene will immediately begin. Be prepared because you'll be thrown into battle with the Noble Pokemon right away. The way to defeat the Noble Pokemon is by being strategic, recognizing when you need to be patient and doge, and when you can “attack” to whittle down their health bar.

Also, even though the trainer character will be the one to directly “fight” the Noble Pokemon for most of the battle, make sure you have your preferred Pokemon pre-selected and at the ready because there will be a few chances for you to send out your Pokemon to battle the Noble ‘mon.

Phases of battling with Noble Pokemon:

  • Noble Pokemon in frenzied attack mode
    • The Noble Pokemon will charge at you or unleash various moves that stun upon hitting you.
    • In this phase, which actually constitutes the majority of the battle, use the Y button and directional pad to dodge
    • In between these moves, throw balms at the Noble Pokemon. There's an infinite supply, so just keep hitting the Noble with these balms whenever you get the chance to.
  • Noble Pokemon is stunned (Noble vs your Pokemon)
    • When the Noble Pokemon takes enough damage or when it crashes into a wall (for example, when you dodge away and it charges into a structure in the arena), it will be stunned for a few seconds.
    • Instead of throwing balms, press X to switch to your Pokemon. Aim and throw the Pokeball at the Noble so that you can send your allied Pokemon out into battle.
    • The battle will shift into a turn-based battle as if you were fighting normal Wild Pokemon. Now, you can direct your Pokemon to unleash its strongest or most effective attack.
    • Afterwards, this will leave the Noble Pokemon stunned for an extra 10 seconds. Take this opportunity to throw as many balms as possible to lower the health bar (or perhaps, the rage bar, so that it calms down).
  • Noble Pokemon is cured
    • After lowering the yellow health bar with enough balms, a cut-scene will play out before the battle is officially finished.
    • You will be told to throw one last balm, and the Noble Pokemon will calm down, now cured of its frenzied status.

Now you've completed the mission and can progress further into the story!
