As reported by ComicBook.com, rumors that Sly Cooper 5 will be coming to the PS5 has been brewing for weeks. Different communities from message boards to Reddit have been speculating that Sucker Punch Productions is working on a new Sly Cooper game. To give you some idea, the last Sly Cooper game came out for the PS3 all the way back in 2013.
Sly Cooper first came out for the Playstation 2 in 2002, and it's almost time for its 20-year anniversary. Not only will it make sense to revive the game series in 2022, but it'll also boost the PS5's dismal exclusives offering. Surely, another platformer will be welcomed with open arms by fans, especially for such an underrated character and often overlooked one such as Sly Cooper. The game series has had a cult following all these years, and there's still demand for a new game until now. Apart from making these fans happy, Sucker Punch Productions has the chance to introduce the thieving raccoon to an entirely new generation of fans.
While rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, we admit that this one makes us feel a little bit excited. Here's to hoping that there's some sliver of truth from this rumor.
