Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby was apparently dealing with more than the knee issue that made him appear as “doubtful” on the injury list ahead of their Week 12 showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Via ESPN, Crosby revealed following the Raiders' 31-17 loss that he made a trip to the hospital while dealing with an infection that “had him down for the count.”

The 26-year-old did not dive deep into what went wrong, but he did say he had “real issues” going on. Still, with everything he went through over the past week, Crosby was able to gut it out on Sunday and became the first of 67 players with a “doubtful” designation on the IL to actually suit up and play.

He even managed to sack Mahomes for the fifth time in his career.

Nonetheless, Crosby did admit he dealt with a lot of pain throughout the game and it just goes to show with how much heart he has, especially with the Raiders looking to stay alive in the playoff hunt.

Still, Crosby continues to take pride in being out there for his team.

“I trained all year round to do this, give myself the opportunity to play 17 guaranteed games and if I can go, I'm going to go,” he said, per ESPN. “You put everything into it. I played my a– off and everybody was out there playing their a– off. So, I just wanted to give our team a chance and…I didn't want come off [the field]. It's as simple as that.”

Crosby should get enough time to heal whatever ailments he has left with the Raiders entering their bye week.
