Antonio Brown's tenure with the Oakland Raiders didn't get off to the smoothest start. The superstar wide receiver was late for his introductory press conference in the Bay Area on Wednesday, lending fuel to a fire burning from his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers that Brown's remarkably consistent production isn't worth the hassle that accompanies his playing persona.

But what if the Raiders' franchise receiver was running a bit late simply because he was finishing a workout with his new quarterback? It seems possible considering Brown and Oakland signal-caller David Carr were caught by TMZ cameras at a local practice field Wednesday morning enjoying their first session of throw and catch as teammates. The Raiders subsequently released a video that shows Brown meeting Carr at his area home, asking if he's ā€œalready threw.ā€

Brown, of course, was acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers over the weekend in exchange for third and fifth-round picks in the upcoming NFL draft. Oakland subsequently signed him to a three-year, $54.1 million deal that includes $30 million of guaranteed money.

The six-time Pro Bowler requested a trade in February following a 2018 season in which he routinely clashed with Steelers players and coaches, including superstar quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and longtime head coach Mike Tomlin. Though the team initially balked at honoring his desire to be dealt, a meeting with owner Art Rooney II apparently changed the teamā€™s approach, with both parties leaving the summit having publicly agreed that Brown and the Steelers should part ways going forward.

Brown had 104 catches for 1,297 yards and a league-leading 15 touchdowns last season for Pittsburgh.
