The Las Vegas Raiders reached the postseason last year for just the second time in two decades last year. However, they were unable to win in the playoffs, dropping to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Wild Card round. In order to take the next step, it was clear the franchise needed more talent.

That's exactly what the Raiders did this offseason. First, they signed free agent edge rusher Chandler Jones. Then they shocked the NFL world by trading for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams. While on The Herd Friday, Jones sat with Joy Taylor and discussed, among other things, Adams' impact on the Raiders.

“I would hate to be a defensive coordinator, going to sleep knowing that I have to face Davante Adams that Sunday. I'm glad he's on my side,” Chandler said.

He's not kidding. Adams has proven to be one of the most elite players we have seen in recent memory. Three of the last four years, Adams has surpassed 1,300 yards receiving. Last year, he posted a career-high 1,553 yards with 11 touchdowns. He had 18 touchdowns the year prior. But it's not just about his production. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has often talked about how Adams is like having a second quarterback on the field. That is something that should fire up Raiders fans.

Las Vegas QB Derek Carr already has a connection with Adams. They played together in college at Fresno State. There is a very good chance this offense is going to be lethal this year.

Meanwhile, Jones has been one of the league's premier pass rushers for a number of years now. He will join Maxx Crosby as one of the best pass rushing tandems in the NFL. The AFC West is stacked, but don't count out Las Vegas.
