The Oakland Raiders have agreed to a two-year contract with safety Erik Harris, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deal will be worth up to $6.5 million and comes with $2.5 million guaranteed.

Harris played in all 16 games this past season and made four starts, finishing with 49 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defended.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of California, went undrafted and ended up landing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL in 2013, where he played through 2015.

He then landed with the New Orleans Saints in February 2016, appearing in four games without logging a statistic before tearing his ACL in October.

Harris then proceeded to sign with the Raiders in September 2017 and participated in 15 contests, failing to register a tackle as he played primarily on special teams.

Oakland is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it won just four games. The Raiders have made the playoffs only once since last appearing in the Super Bowl during the 2002-03 season, and since then, they have posted just one winning season.

Since 2012, Oakland has recorded four seasons four wins or less, with its worst year coming in 2013 when it went 3-13.

Following a disappointing 6-10 campaign in 2017, the Raiders fired Jack Del Rio and hired Jon Gruden as head coach, marking Gruden's second stint with the franchise.

Gruden's first go-around with the team spanned 1998 through 2001, and ironically enough, Gruden went on to coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that defeated the Raiders in the Super Bowl the year after he and Oakland parted ways.
