The reactions continue to pour in from across the league after Jon Gruden resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders due to leaked emails revealing racist, homophobic, and sexist comments.

The latest figure to chime in on the situation is a familiar face to the Raiders and their fans, former coach Jack Del Rio, who is currently the defensive coordinator for The Washington Football Team. He put Gruden on blast. Via Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post:

“It was, I guess, shocking. Embarrassingly bad for a person in that position to have those kinds of thoughts and to express them like that. I don't have much respect for it.”

Del Rio was in charge of the Raiders from 2015-17, just before Gruden took over. It's no surprise that he feels this way about the situation. In fact, basically everyone has thought the same thing.

Gruden has faced a ton of backlash for his actions and it definitely seems unlikely that he will ever coach in the NFL again. He still had about $60 million across five years remaining on his contract with the Raiders after the 2021 season. Needless to say, he's missing out on a lot of money because of this entire saga. Aside from the embarrassment, it's the price that Jon Gruden will have to pay.
