Several personalities within and around the Las Vegas Raiders have begun speaking out about the situation of now ex-head coach Jon Gruden. For his part, Las Vegas tight end Darren Waller appears to be taking the side of his embattled coach.

Instead of lambasting Gruden for his actions, Waller has decided to take a more understanding approach amid the scandal:

“I want to offer somebody grace and allow them to learn from what they may have done and that's what I'm trying to do right now for coach,” Waller said, via Jesse Merrick of KSNV News 3 Las Vegas.

Waller did say that he believes Gruden's actions are inexcusable, but the 29-year-old is also wondering, “where we draw the line in trying to help people too.”

Raiders star quarterback Derek Carr has also broken his silence about the Gruden situation. Carr is also taking a similar approach to that of Waller as he too is hoping that people are able to forgive Gruden for his indiscretion. Much like his teammate, Carr also abhors Gruden's actions, but he also shared how much he loves his coach as a person and as a friend.

On Tuesday, a New York Times article leaked a handful of emails sent out by Jon Gruden to former Washington Football Team GM Bruce Allen. The emails contained racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks that have led to the resignation of Gruden as the Raiders head coach.
