Oakland Raiders 2017 first-round draft pick Gareon Conley has been a disappointment up to this point in his career, but he is ready to take the next step forward and be the number one cornerback for the team. The big problem with Conley is he hasn't been able to stay healthy, which means he hasn't been on the field to help out the team.

This season Conley is healthy and is slated to be the number one cornerback, and this is a challenge he is ready to take on.

“I mean I like all pressure,” Conley said via NBC Sports. “Any responsibility I take on, I’m going to take it and embrace it. So if anybody wants to go in and put their best receiver up, I’m going to try and go against them and lock them down.”

Last season Conley was strong allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete only 54 percent of their passes thrown his way and although he knows that was good, he knows he can be better.

“I feel like I made great strides,” Conley said. “But I can always make greater strides and I’m always looking to get better and there’s always money out there left on the field. So I just got to get better every time I can.”

Every day during practice Conley has been matching up with Antonio Brown, one of the best wide receivers in the league and that is going only to make him better when he has to go against opposing teams best wideouts each game.
