Greg Jennings is expecting Antonio Brown to make a major impact for Raiders

Greg Jennings, Antonio Brown, Raiders

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown has endured a rough start with his new team heading into the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, former NFL wide receiver and analyst Greg Jennings is still confident in the potential impact he will have this year.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the start of Brown’s tenure in Oakland amidst a botched cryotherapy session and his near-retirement over a helmet issue. Jennings said during during an appearance on UNDISPUTED that he is still expecting a big season from the seven-time Pro Bowler.

“Antonio Brown is going to help the Oakland football Raiders. … Derek Carr had 19 TD passes last year. 19! AB had 15 TD receptions just last season.”

Although Jennings has been sympathetic with the events that have transpired with Brown this offseason, there is certainly good reason for him to be optimistic. Despite his falling out with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he still finished the 2018 campaign with the most receiving touchdowns in the league.

While Brown’s boisterous persona may generate some peculiar headlines at times, the distractions ultimately pale in comparison to what he is capable of doing on the field. The Raiders have always provided a thriving culture for colorful personalities that wore out their initial welcomes in the NFL. This also happens to be a team that is desperate for more firepower on offense, especially following the departure of their leading receiver from last season in tight end Jared Cook.

As a result, there is perhaps no player better fit to help lead a potential resurgence on offense for the Raiders than Brown himself.
