The Oakland Raiders on Tuesday afternoon officially introduced Jon Gruden as their next head coach.

Gruden wasted little time in addressing his excitement about working with Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr while voicing he has already thought about possible plays the team can run, according to James Palmer of The NFL Network.

There had been reports that there is some concern of how Carr can manage to deal with the often brash coaching style that Gruden has been known to use. However, the fact that the two have already conversed about what could potentially be ahead could lay the groundwork for a strong relationship between them both.

Carr has proven to be one of the league's most dynamic young quarterbacks in the league through his first four seasons. Although he took a step back in the 2017 season, the change to the coaching staff along with possible roster alterations could help him recapture his Pro Bowl form.

The 26-year-old has been able to throw more than 20 touchdowns and 3,250 yards in each of his first four years under center. The Raiders are committed to Carr being the long-term answer under center as the franchise quarterback after inking him to a five-year, $125 million contract extension last June.

The intriguing part of this pairing is the fact that Gruden hasn't coached since the 2008 season, and much has changed since he last strolled the sidelines. There is a much higher dependency on the quarterback leading the offense with his arm. Carr has indeed shown he can do just that, and it will be interesting to see if he can help put together an offensive playbook that works best to his star quarterback's strengths as a passer.

In the meantime, there is a renewed buzz around the organization with the arrival of Gruden that has shifted the focus to bring the Raiders back into the playoffs in 2018.
