Jon Gruden is entering his third season as the Las Vegas Raiders' head coach. His first season at the helm saw them go just 4-12. However, last year saw a big jump, with the Raiders finishing 7-9.

There were clear improvements made. And with that, many are expecting more improvements made this year and another jump when it comes to the record.

What does Gruden think though? Does the head coach have confidence in his team? Well according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic on Twitter, Gruden was asked about that. And the head coach had a pretty hilarious response.

Obviously Gruden is joking around and having some fun here. It is safe to assume that he's pretty confident in his team.

However, this response was very appropriate for 2020. Gruden joked that he has only seen “like 3 or 4 live snaps of football.” There he is clearly pointing to the fact that they have not had the same opportunity to practice and evaluate their talent.

Due to that, it is pretty understandable that a coach might not feel he has gotten to evaluate all of his players properly.

That being said, all jokes aside, it should be an exciting year for the Raiders. They have a lot of young talent and are clearly trending upwards after last year. Gruden and company seem to be in a good place.

And if he was not confident in his team, the head coach likely would not be making those types of jokes. So any fan that is a little worried about the joke, should feel at ease knowing that.

Las Vegas opens up their 2020 season with a Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Carolina. This game will set the tone for the year, so it will be interesting to watch not only how the talent plays on the field, but how Gruden and his staff coach.

Will that confidence build? Or will it waiver a bit?
