The Las Vegas Raiders, fresh off one of their most dramatic season-opening victories in recent memory, might be forced to tangle with one of the NFL's elite defenses absent a top playmaker. Josh Jacobs didn't practice for the Raiders on Thursday due to a toe injury, the second consecutive session he's missed this week. His status for Las Vegas' Week 2 tilt with the Pittsburgh Steelers is currently unknown.

Jacobs wasn't especially productive in his team's overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, but played an integral role for the Raiders regardless. His 15-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter tied the game at 17-17, affording Las Vegas some much-needed momentum after an uneven start.

A first-round pick in 2019, Josh Jacobs rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first two NFL seasons. He became an even bigger part of the Raiders' offense a year ago, hauling in 33 passes from Derek Carr from out of the backfield and split out wide, evidence of his impressive versatility.

If Josh Jacobs is unable to play against Pittsburgh, expect Kenyan Drake to fill in as Las Vegas' lead back, with fellow veteran Peyton Barber spelling him.

“We've got some guys that are banged up, but we feel like we've got pretty good depth on our side of the football,” Las Vegas offensive coordinator Greg Olson said on Thursday.

The Steelers, coming off an impressive win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, welcome the Raiders to Heinz Field at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday.
