Raiders’ Josh Jacobs is the top-rated rookie RB in Madden 20
Most around the NFL have high hopes this upcoming season for Oakland Raiders rookie running back Josh Jacobs. His Madden 20 rating reflects that. Usually, rookie running backs are rated a little lower in the game than other skill positions and that is no different this year with Jacobs being the highest rated rookie back sitting at 74. Below is an excerpt about Jacobs taken from the Madden 20 website.
A power back with an 85 Trucking rating, 83 Break Tackle rating, and an 83 Stiff Arm score, Josh Jacobs landed in an opportunity-abundant situation where he’s likely to lead the Oakland backfield in snaps. If he flashes early on, there’s a chance Jacobs evolves into a workhorse for the Raiders and becomes a go-to back in goal-line and short-yardage situations in Madden 20.
Jacobs is rated a clear three points higher than Devin Singletary, Miles Sanders, and Darrell Henderson Jr. who all sit at a rating of 72.
Everyone around the Raiders has talked about how impressed they have been with the former Alabama Crimson Tide back, and although some have trouble adjusting to the NFL, Jacobs told M.J. Acosta of NFL Network that he was picking up with playbook with ease.
“When I spoke with him just a few weeks ago, just before minicamp started after OTAs, he told me he was actually pleasantly surprised with how quickly he was able to pick up on this playbook. That integration into this offense for him, he says, has been much better than he anticipated. Certainly still a challenge, of course, going from the collegiate level to the pros, but he says he’s getting along just fine,”
Only time will tell if he can live up to the hype, but so far he has done and said all the right things.
