The Las Vegas Raiders added a few offensive players early in the 2020 NFL Draft, including Lynn Bowden Jr in Round 3. Following the decision to select Bowden, Raiders general manager Mike Mayock revealed what position Bowden is going to play with Las Vegas.

In his final collegiate season at Kentucky, Bowden played two positions on offense, taking snaps at both quarterback and wide receiver. Nonetheless, Bowden will make the transition to running back in the NFL.

While playing quarterback, Bowden rushed for 1,468 yards and 13 touchdowns. And though he was working as a wide receiver at the time, Bowden threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. He  also caught 30 receptions for 348 yards and another touchdown.

Given his versatility, the Raiders have a variety of ways that they can utilize Bowden in their offense. But in the end, they'll use him — or at least classify him — at the running back position.

Of course, Josh Jacobs figures to remain as the featured back in Las Vegas' offense. In addition, Jalen Richard is likely going to continue having a role in the Raiders' passing attack. However, now Bowden is going to be used as a change-of-pace option.

Seeing that he has experience as a receiver, Bowden could also see some plays where he's lined up out wide. As for others, they'll likely have him run routes out of the backfield or run him outside the tackles. It goes without saying that they don't expect Bowden to have much skill as a pass protector.

Besides Bowden, the Raiders also added Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards in the draft. While Ruggs and Edwards improve the wide receiver position, Bowden is going to begin his NFL career at running back.
