The Las Vegas Raiders signed running back Devontae Booker earlier this week. But prior to the Raiders agreeing to terms with Booker, they apparently were in discussions with another veteran halfback. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, that back was LeSean McCoy.

McCoy spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs, battling injuries and playing in 13 games. During his time on the field, he rushed for 465 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 4.6 yards per carry.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh, was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round (53rd pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

After a solid rookie year in which he totaled 637 yards and four scores on the ground, McCoy broke out in his second season, registering 1,080 yards and seven touchdowns while logging 5.2 yards per attempt. He also caught 78 passes for 592 yards and a couple of scores.

McCoy then made his first Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2011, racking up 1,309 yards while reaching the end zone 17 times on the ground.

The Harrisburg, Pa. native spent the first six seasons of his career with the Eagles, making three trips to the Pro Bowl and notching First-Team All-Pro honors twice.

Philadelphia traded McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso in March 2015.

McCoy proceeded to spend the next four years with the Bills, making three straight Pro Bowl appearances between 2015 and 2017. He was waived by Buffalo shortly before this past season began and went on to sign with the Chiefs.
