While the Oakland Raiders have had a busy offseason, they are still trying to fill the pass-rushing gap left by former linebacker Khalil Mack after the team traded him to the Chicago Bears last year.

That's why the Raiders are expressing interest in Louisiana Tech defensive lineman Jaylon Ferguson and will meet with the edge rusher ahead of the NFL Draft this month, according to John Newby of 247 Sports.

Ferguson, who has meetings lined up with 22 of the 32 of the teams in the NFL, is one of the most intriguing prospects in this year's draft class.

The 23-year-old was incredibly productive on the collegiate level, setting an NCAA career record with 47 sacks and racking up the third-most tackles for loss over the course of his four-year tenure at Louisiana Tech.

However, he posted a three-cone drill time of just 8.08 seconds at his Pro Day, representing the slowest time for an edge rusher since 2000.

Ferguson was also unable to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine in February as a result of a background check revealing a simple battery conviction back in his freshman year, so the kid is a bit of a mystery overall.

What we do know is that Ferguson was a dominant force on the collegiate level, as he is coming off of a terrific senior campaign in which he registered 65 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

His next best season at Louisiana Tech came during his sophomore year, when he totaled 49 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.
