The Las Vegas Raiders may be pursuing one of the most controversial free-agent quarterbacks. With their relationship with possibly-former signal-caller Derek Carr deteriorating, the Raiders are rumored to be interested in Tampa Bay Buccaneers gunslinger Jameis Winston.

According to NBC Sports' Peter King, the Raiders could be “aggressive” in targeting the one-time Pro Bowl quarterback Winston.
Winston led the NFL in 2019 in both passing yards (5,109) and interceptions (30). While the Buccaneers appear out on their former first-overall pick from the 2015 draft, whose only Pro-Bowl selection was in his rookie season, Winston's free-agent market could be shaping out to be a bidding war between teams searching for a competent backup quarterback and franchises desperate enough to give Winston's a long-term deal.
There is no shortage of QB-needy teams in the NFL right now, as King mentions the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Washington Redskins as candidates for backups. However, if Winston wants a starting gig, maybe the newly relocated Raiders could pursue the former Heisman Trophy winner with FSU.
