The AFC West arms race has heated up greatly ever since the Denver Broncos acquired Russell Wilson. The Los Angeles Chargers added Khalil Mack and JC Jackson and the Las Vegas Raiders traded for Davante Adams and signed Chandler Jones.

The Raiders aren't done yet. They are going hard for more upgrades. According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, they are “making a run” at star cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Jordan Schultz reports that they have already submitted an offer.

Gilmore is a five-time Pro Bowler and the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year. He would be a very strong addition to the Raiders defense, which needs more from their secondary. With Jones, Maxx Crosby and Denzel Perryman headlining the front seven, the Raiders are looking to add more help behind them.

After trading for Rock Ya-Sin, the Raiders still need a true CB1. The 31-year-old Gilmore is among the very best corners in the NFL. For so many stars to end up in one division in one offseason would be insane. But with each team looking like playoff contenders that are going for it all, they could nearly sweep the market clean of any available stars.

The Raiders outperformed their expectations vastly last season. Now, their expectations are much higher. But so is the amount of talent that the roster has and could add soon.
