As NFL facilities slowly open, players are gradually getting back into the groove. Take Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, for example, who is already training with his wide receivers, via his YouTube channel.

What a difference a year makes. Around this time last offseason, Carr was preparing to spend the season throwing to Antonio Brown, but of course, a series of incidents resulted in Brown being released by the Raiders before he even played a game.

The Brown disappointment resulted in the Raiders being very thin at the wide receiver position in 2019, with Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow representing Carr's only fairly dependable targets at wideout. Fortunately, tight end Darren Waller had a breakout campaign to soften the blow, but overall, the Raiders' aerial attack still labored.

While Las Vegas didn't make a big splash to address the problem in free agency (it signed Nelson Agholor, but that was about it), it did take Alabama's Henry Ruggs III with the 12th overall pick in the NFL Draft last month.

The Raiders also now have both Waller and Jason Witten at tight end.

Clearly, the jury is still out on Carr's receiving corps, but, at the very least, he seems to have more weapons at his disposal than he did heading into 2019.

Carr is coming off of a season in which he threw for 4,054 yards, 21 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while completing 70.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 100.8.

The 29-year-old entered the NFL as a second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014 and has made three Pro Bowl appearances.
