The Los Angeles Rams eased to their third straight win to begin the 2018 campaign with a 35-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but it saw them struggle injuries to their secondary with both of their starters bowing out of the game due to leg ailments.

There were early reports to surface that Aqib Talib will need at least the next month to heal from his high ankle sprain. However, Vincent Bonsignore of the Athletic is reporting that the 32-year-old will get a second opinion on the injury that could see surgery be recommended.

This has given more severity to the situation as it could put him out of action for more than the next month with the possibility that it may put him on the IR that wouldn't be able to return to the fold over the next two months. Regardless of the being the case, it is a significant blow to their secondary as the Rams had quickly pinned as one of their starters along with earning the designation as one of the team captains in his first campaign with the franchise.

The Rams have been put in a bit of a hole at the position with fellow Pro Bowler Marcus Peters also suffered a calf injury that initially looked much worse than it appeared. He has avoided a possible season-ending torn ACL as it has been deemed just calf strain that has put him listed as day-to-day. There has been chatter that he will be out for the next two to four weeks with the ailment.

Los Angeles will now look to Nickell Robey-Coleman and Sam Shields to hold the starting duties with both Peters and Talib out of the mix. The Rams have a tough matchup ahead on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings' high-powered offense that is coming off a porous showing against the Buffalo Bills.
