It didn't take long for Eric Weddle to find a home after being released by the Baltimore Ravens last week, as the safety quickly agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

Weddle, who grew up in California, called the move to the Rams a “dream scenario.”

“I said this to a bunch of my buddies, just sitting back, how my career has come full circle and what amazing opportunity that I have,” Weddle said, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. “To be back home, to play for an amazing organization that my dad was a die hard fan of growing up. And he gets to be able to cheer for his son in that Rams uniform. Being close enough to home and the emotions of it, they weren’t really in the mix and then all of sudden things changed and boom there’s the lead dogs now. … It’s a dream come true. I can’t even express how I felt in that moment or even now. I wish it was April 15 and I could get to the team and get working with my guys.”

This will mark the second time that Weddle has played in southern California in his NFL career, as he began his NFL tenure with the San Diego Chargers, spending the first nine years of his career with the Bolts before signing with the Ravens in March 2016.

The 34-year-old is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he registered 68 tackles and a sack en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Weddle has made three straight trips to Honolulu and has earned six Pro Bowl selections overall. He has also notched First-Team All-Pro honors twice.
